Best Week Ever

Let me just tell you about the period of time between September 10-14 of the year 2017.  It was a grand time.

But before I go there, I also have to tell you about the second Best Week Ever.  In April earlier this year, 30 some odd photographers took a week off of their regular shooting schedule to teach another 1,000 photographers about what makes them so great.  I was fortunate enough to take a class from none other than Lindsay Adler.  It was a transformative experience and a reaffirming one.   I had recently decided to focus (heh) my photography efforts towards seniors and fashion.  Somewhere inside that week, there was a conversation about the actual Best Week Ever...

Pardon my iPhone photo.

Pardon my iPhone photo.

Flash-forward to September 10 - the start of the Portrait Masters Conference held by Sue Bryce.  Back in April, Lindsay extended me the opportunity to assist her at this highly anticipated event.  Naturally, I said yes.  And I may have squealed.  Internally.  Over the next four days, I got an inside look at the life and work of a highly venerated and successful photographer, and let me tell you - she is one of the most genuine people I have ever met.  She generously gives her time to anyone who wants to ask her questions or to just say "hi".  Also, #funfact  - her birthday is today!!!  And she's only 32!!

The day after the conference, I was also able to assist her for a client shoot with another fellow photographer Ashley Lindsay, and her husband Cody.  They.  Were.  Adorable.  And so fun.

More iPhone images.  After spending an intensive five days with Lindsay, I can honestly call her a friend, which is perhaps the best possible outcome from this experience.  And on the photography side of things, she's certainly inspired my approach to photographing people.  So to wrap up the Best Week Ever,  I'll end this post with images that were a direct result of her influence.
